Nozzle
West Mekan deliver propeller nozzles individually optimized for each vessel's operating profile and propulsion system. Available as fixed or steerable nozzles, they are engineered to maximize thrust, improve propulsion efficiency and enhance vessel manoeuvrability The nozzles are normally delivered together with the propeller system.
The nozzles are primarily manufactured in steel and fitted with a stainless steel wear ring around the propeller area to improve durability and reduce the risk of corrosion and wear.
To ensure reliable protection during transport and installation, all nozzles are supplied factory-primed and ready for final coating.
Propeller nozzles are particularly beneficial for tugboats, workboats, fishing vessels and other vessels requiring high bollard pull or towing performance, where increased thrust at low speeds is a key operational requirement. For higher speeds, more than 12-15 knots nozzles are normally not recommended due to the increased drag created by the nozzle.
