West Mekan supplies a range of flexible couplings designed to improve comfort, protect the drivetrain and reduce maintenance. By allowing the engine to be mounted on flexible engine mounts, they effectively reduce the transmission of noise and vibration throughout the vessel.

Depending on the application, couplings are available from simple designs that provide smoother gear engagement to advanced flexible couplings that compensate for misalignment in multiple directions.

The flexible couplings are only delivered together with our propeller systems for shaft diameters up to 150 mm. Depending on the coupling type and installation, a thrust bearing may be required to absorb propeller thrust.
