Propeller Shaft Brackets
The shaft bracket plays a vital role in propulsion efficiency, vibration levels and overall vessel performance. At West Mekan, every shaft bracket is individually designed to match the vessel's hull, propulsion system and operating profile, ensuring optimum water flow to the propeller and reliable long-term operation.
West Mekan designs, manufactures and supplies propeller shaft brackets, complete with or without water-lubricated bearings. Brackets are available in both I-type and A-type configurations to suit a wide range of vessel designs.
Our cast aluminium bronze or stainless steel brackets feature hydrodynamically optimized NACA profiles, selected according to the vessel's operating speed to minimize drag and maximize propeller performance. They can be supplied with or without a hull flange to suit individual installation requirements.
Fabricated brackets in carbon steel, stainless steel or aluminium are fully welded and designed to meet each customer's specific requirements.
West Mekan shaft brackets are available for shaft diameters from 25 to 150 mm, including imperial sizes, both main brackets and support brackets if needed.
