Type CP-HE – controllable pitch propeller
The WM CP-HE is a high-performance controllable pitch propeller system designed for use with standard gearboxes without an integrated servo unit.
Pitch is adjusted hydraulically by a piston connected to the propeller hub through a control rod inside the propeller shaft. The system provides smooth, precise and exceptionally fast pitch adjustment from full reverse to maximum ahead, ensuring excellent manoeuvrability and optimum propulsion performance under all operating conditions.
Thanks to its very fast response time, the WM CP-HE(S) is particularly well suited for vessels requiring frequent manoeuvring, dynamic positioning or rapid changes in thrust. The response is even faster than many conventional gearbox-mounted servo systems.
The system is compatible with virtually all propulsion arrangements, including diesel, hybrid and electric drivetrains. For electric propulsion systems without a gearbox, a thrust bearing is normally included to absorb propeller thrust and protect the electric motor.
A wide range of control options is available, from simple manual hydraulic controls to fully integrated electronic control systems.

The system can also be supplied with the pitch control unit mounted in front of compatible gearboxes where required.
