Type CP-HVP – controllable pitch propeller
The WM CP-HVP is a controllable pitch propeller system designed for use with gearboxes featuring an integrated servo mechanism. Optimized for this type of installation, it provides reliable pitch control, smooth operation and dependable performance in a wide range of commercial and passenger vessel applications.
Blade pitch is adjusted through a control rod running inside the propeller shaft, connecting the gearbox servo directly to the propeller hub. This ensures precise pitch control from full reverse to maximum ahead, delivering excellent manoeuvrability and efficient propulsion across varying operating conditions.
The system offers a fast and reliable pitch response, making it suitable for vessels requiring flexible propulsion control. While the response time is slightly slower than our WM CP-HE system, the CP-HVP provides a proven and cost-effective solution for vessels equipped with gearbox-integrated servo control.
The standard control system is normally supplied by the gearbox manufacturer, while more advanced control and automation systems can be integrated when required.
As the servo mechanism is integrated into the gearbox, the WM CP-HVP must be directly connected to the gearbox and cannot be installed with a flexible coupling or thrust bearing between the gearbox and the propeller system.
